A slender travertine cylinder drops from the ceiling, capped by a narrower wooden disc that handles the mounting. The proportions are elongated, 16 cm (6.3 in) high for 11 cm (4.3 in) across, giving this travertine semi flush mount light an almost columnar silhouette. The pale beige stone shows its pores and irregularities along its full height.

The bulb sits deep inside the hollow cylinder, hidden by the depth of the stone. From below you only see a diffuse glow escaping the opening, with no direct glare, and the light takes on a honey tone as it passes through the travertine's pores at the rim. It marks its presence without getting in the way of circulation.
Two wood finishes are offered. Light wood, with blond veining, carries the warmth of the travertine in bright Mediterranean or Scandinavian rooms; dark wood, close to walnut, creates a sharper contrast for hushed or darker contemporary spaces. In a hallway, several in a row set a rhythm; in a bedroom, it creates atmosphere without dictating where the furniture goes. Where most stone ceiling lights spread wide, this one rises, like a fragment of a column set against the ceiling.
